Writing for staying sharp

I read a blog post from Dru Riley. He mediates between 1 to 2 hrs a day. One of his fellows also wanted to start the habit, setting the daily minimum at 7 minutes. But they never started. Dru suggested 1 min, they rejected citing 7 mins was small enough. They never started.

I feel them. I am exactly that fellow, but replace meditating with writing.

Most of what I want to write doesn’t get written because writing isn’t high enough on the food chain of priorities, and because of the mental block that it will take hours. Time is fuel for my many interests, which I fiercely protect.

But not writing is making me dumb, and I don’t want to feel this way.

This is just a note to myself to make time for writing, even if it is 1 min every day. Even if it doesn’t clear my internal quality bar.
